It is meant to be taken lightly, but has very serious undercurrents that require a certain dark humor to appreciate. This comic is NOT for everyone. It is, however, insightful, brilliant, acerbic, and (most importantly) incredibly funny. Now, for the book itself, it is a paperback book with color drawing. It is 160-something pages or so long, and it recreates comic from the web, while adding a couple new ones. If you have read all the webcomics, though, don't expect a whole lot of new material. The colors stand out well on a semi-gloss paper stock, and the paperback is not flimsy. Certainly, as someone else stated, hardback would have been great, but they did not skimp on the weight/sturdiness of the paperback cover. Conclusion? If you like the webcomic... GET IT. It is a great addition to any collection and non-webcomic-savvy friends will love you for sharing it with them. My only problem with this book was the amount of comics on each page and the length of the book. It seems as if the publisher could have easily printed nearly three comics on each page, however there is only one per page. It may have been a style they were working on but I like to get more for my money. At the same time, the book is a little short, I found myself finishing it within a few hours, whilst trying to keep my friends from stealing away the book to read it themselves. I am 46 and have never been offended in my life, but some of what you'll find in "Cyanide's" pages will be in poor taste--but nevertheless clever and amusing all at once. I read this on my Kindle Fire (non-HD) and frequently had to touch a picture and zoom to read the tiny text in some of the cartoons, which got to be a drag after a while.
