I’m from Eastern Kentucky, Christian, female, and 20’s so most people would be unsuspecting of me aligning myself with the metal/rock genre let alone open myself up to the opinions of such. I’ve grown tired of the judgemental discord especially where I come from so this read was more than refreshing. It pulled me out this conservative, religious, narrow-minded realm and helped me see that there’s others out there that agree with me on some things. Thank goodness because I was starting to suffocate. This book is a look into the social, political and ideological differences in America. I found myself going back and rereading frame-worthy quotes, facts and statements. Even though I don’t agree or lineup with everything in the book it was tastefully fulfilling and assisted me to see America through a different lense, however I found myself agreeing and laughing more than not. Fun read about a relevant topic. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Corey Taylor's heart is in the right place *by V***E on September 10, 2024* I love how much common sense and hope he has. He actually won me over on something I was against. I'll still be thinking about that for a while but I think he made a very good point. While another topic I still respectfully disagree with him but it wasn't annoying hearing his whole take on it like I thought it would be. He explains his way of thinking very well and I love that he adds in humor. (The comedy sprinkled in were nice rest stops.) I listened to the audiobook while reading along with him. I really recommend listening to him read because you can hear the emotion vs wondering how exactly he sounds from just the text. It was awesome hearing how he feels about everything shared in this book. And it felt more intimate. (Plus, the jokes landed better.) The audio doesn't give you time to stop reading a sentence to roll your eyes and rant out loud to yourself if he's still going on talking. Listen to his whole point instead of assuming you know what he's about to say.
