You can't feed this thing enough input for it to come anyplace close to distortion and the output is clean and exactly what you put in. I don't know if I quite believe that it peaks at 4400 watts because it's difficult to attain that kind of power and, if you did, that kind of wattage would literally blow your eardrums out. With that said it murders any other powered speaker in the market on a price/performance comparison. For a street price of $1200. you get a speaker that is light for the kind of output it has (about 60 lbs) yet puts out an amazing sound with an outrageous amount of volume. A pair of theses Yorkvilles used by a dj or for a band PA are all you need for 95% of the venues in the world. If you're playing MSGarden or Royal Albert Hall you may need a few more pairs....... They aren't as elegant looking as the QSC speakers but they have 4X the wattage (and size matters) and these brutes put out.
