Instead, I simply soldered the wires of the light to a cigarette lighter which I can plug in to the trunk of my car whenever it is needed. Black to negative (obviously) and yellow to positive give the highest brightness. Using the red wire instead of yellow looks dimmer. Dim is useful if you want to keep it always on and only make it brighter when hitting the brakes. For a fog light however, you want it continuously as bright as possible. For normal visibility that's a bit too bright. So don't forget to switch it off when there is no fog.
