The sound of falling water is very quiet, so it you are purchasing a fountain to enjoy the sound, this is probably not the one for you. If you want a peaceful and attractive not to mention inexpensive addition to your space, this will work! Since I just bought it, I am not sure how reliable it will turn out to be, but as of this writing, it shows no signs of .problems or issues. It was plugged in via the power cord, not operating on battery power. I makes a nice decoration - but doesn't provide the serene trickle of water that i expected.
