## Description

Product description Grow Your Own Ginger at Home It's Easier Than You Think Ginger is a fast-growing, renewable root crop that thrives in containers or garden beds. Greenhouse PCA ginger rhizomes are live, viable planting stock selected for freshness and growth potential—ideal for gardeners focused on self-reliance and home food production. Live & Plantable These are fresh ginger rhizomes sourced from Peru , selected specifically for planting—not dried grocery store roots. Each piece is live and capable of sprouting, producing healthy new growth under proper conditions. From One Rhizome to Ongoing Harvest Harvest and Re-Plant Next Season Ginger grows by expanding underground into a network of connected rhizomes. When you plant a single piece, it develops roots, sends up leafy shoots, and gradually produces multiple new ginger rhizomes beneath the soil. Over time, one planted piece can become a much larger harvest. Ginger can be harvested selectively—allowing you to remove portions while leaving the plant to continue growing—or fully harvested at maturity. Portions of the harvest can be replanted to maintain an ongoing, renewable supply. Once harvested, fresh ginger is valued for its versatility in the kitchen. It can be sliced, grated, or steeped in hot water for teas, added to cooking and baking, or stored for later use. Growing your own ginger gives you control over freshness and supply while supporting a more self-reliant way of living. Grows by multiplying underground Harvest some, replant the rest Suitable for container or garden growing Versatile for cooking, teas, and everyday use Renewable crop for long-term self-reliance Simple to Plant, Even for Beginners Planting ginger is straightforward and requires very little equipment or experience. Each ginger rhizome contains natural growth points that sprout when placed in warm, moist soil. No special treatment is required—just plant, water, and allow time for growth. To plant, place the ginger rhizome 1–2 inches deep in loose, well-draining soil with the growth points facing upward. Ginger grows best in warm conditions and bright, indirect light. It thrives in containers, raised beds, or garden soil, making it accessible for indoor growers, greenhouse setups, and outdoor gardens in warm seasons. Keep the soil consistently moist (not soaked). Shoots typically emerge over time, followed by leafy green growth above ground while the ginger slowly expands below the surface. Ginger rewards patience rather than constant attention, making it an excellent low-effort crop for home growers. With simple care, ginger becomes a dependable, renewable plant that fits naturally into a self-reliant growing system. It is easier than you think! Plant shallow in loose soil Keep warm and lightly moist Grow indoors or outdoors Harvest gradually as needed Low Input, High Return It's Not Difficult Ginger thrives with simple care—warm temperatures, consistent moisture, and patience. Once planted, it requires no special equipment, fertilizers, or complicated routines. The plant grows steadily on its own, focusing its energy underground as the rhizomes slowly expand. Because ginger does not demand frequent attention or advanced tools, it is well suited for low-input gardening. It grows reliably in containers, raised beds, or garden soil and can be moved indoors when needed. This makes ginger an excellent choice for preparedness-minded gardeners who value dependable crops that fit into simple, self-reliant growing systems.

Review: Excellent Very Happy - EDIT: 9/21. All sprouted outdoors in summer temps. Made strong plants. Very low maintenance actually. Plant and forget it. Zone 8a. Will bring infor the winter. Super happy. I really appreciated being able to get this ginger. All of it in the grocery store is now chemically stunted so that it doesn't grow at home. I used to buy it from the store and plant it but you can't anymore. The Ginger arrived in beautiful condition. Already sprouting and growing. The leaflet inside explains everything about the Ginger. If it's possibly a little dry or what have you. Of course it has to be mailed somewhere so it might dry out a bit. But they give you their contact information if the plant doesn't do well so that they can replace it or make you happy in whatever way. There's a lot of complaining here but I don't see that anybody actually contacted their customer service. They also have a pamphlet you can scan that teaches you how To grow ginger. I just feel very thankful that I could get the plant and keep it just in case we have to become self sufficient in the near future. It really looks like it's going that way in the US, sorry to say.
Review: No ginger plants - Didn’t grow. Planted per instructions and rooots rotted in the ground.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Very Happy

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ received 12 - 6 sprouted - five grew big - Atlanta GA
*by J***N on January 13, 2024*

I received 12, I planted them all in their own pots, 6 sprouted, 5 grew big. Pictured is the smallest one I harvested after less then a year. I was concerned because at first I got nothing, I was going to ask for a refund, but, they said they stood behind their warranty. My Thai ginger was huge before these were even sprouting. BUT, they did grow eventually, I know Atlanta GA might not be ideal for it's growing conditions and you really need to let them grow well over a year to see any size. Impossible in this part of GA due to the frost and freezing unless you take them inside. Now as to taste, they taste great. Unlike Thai ginger (not really a ginger) these would be suitable for cookies and beer. Very spicy, not too hot. I am going to save some to reseed, but, ordering again, as I give them away at end of season. FWIW: I consider on this type of plant, a 50% germinate rate reasonable, and five stars for the direct response when I had concerns.
