Does the 8.6lbs include the weight of the case also?** A: The saxophone itself weighs 5.4 lbs. 8.6lbs includes the case and shipping box. **Q: Does the sax have a F sharp key?** A: Yes, it has the high F# Key. **Q: Notes from low D and down are a half step/three quarters step sharp. Is this a design issue? Trying to troubleshoot.** A: As with all saxophones, you will use your embouchure to bring the pitch up or down in the highest and lowest registers. In the highest you may want to tighten your embouchure and in the lowest register, like below D, you may want to relax your embouchure. The embouchure is the way the muscles form the mouth around the mouthpiece and reed and is a very important for correct intonation. The middle register should play in tune without the need for mouth adjustment. If that does not help or solve the problem please let me know and we can try something else. Definitely better than my previous sax. The keys feel great, and the overall quality is quite impressive. The reason this gets three stars is because low C is the lowest note that this sax can play, and high D is the highest note. The keys are there, and the fingering is possible, but I can't get anything other than horrible screeching. I don't know if it's the saxophone itself or the mouthpiece. If it wasn't for this problem, this sax would get five stars.EDIT: I changed it to five stars; it turns out that one of the keys was not sealing properly, hence the screeching. I plan to just get it fixed at a local music store. This is definitely a saxophone worth purchasing if you have a low budget. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great instrument and fabulous customer service! *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2019* So I bought this saxophone for our son back in June who was going into 5th grade. His teacher said it seemed to be a good quality instrument which of course made us happy that we saved so much over the school prices. Unfortunately, 9 months later the saxophone got dropped down the stairs at school and the soft case proved insufficient to protect it from such abuse. We sent it to the local repair shop who in turn sent it to the regional repair shop who said that it could not be fixed. We were already afraid of what it would cost to fix but now it seemed a total loss. In a last ditch effort, contacted Herche and told them this story. I didn't pay much attention during the purchase, but they told me to ship it to them as they have a 1 year accidental damage warranty. End of the story is they repaired it, replaced some parts, and sent a new case free of charge. Super impressed with this seller and customer service! The only advise I would give is to consider buying a hard case for more protection if a student will be using this. He's a member of his school band, it sounds great. It is a very durable instrument and it arrived in excellent condition. I highly recommend this for beginners like my son.
