I alternate between this a Jade Harmony and an Original Eco Yoga Mat (the one with jute and natural rubber). When starting a yoga class and still dry (as I usually sweat a lot) the Kharma Khare often feels a bit slippery on my hands. A couple of times I used chalk for down dog as my hands were moving. The Kharma Khare usually has great grip once I start to sweat, however even then I find sometimes it is hard to maintain a consistent grip in wheel or down dog. I think it needs some surface pattern for increased traction and not just rely on the moisture absorbing characteristics of the material. I also find that it tends to move around on the floor during power yoga. More than my other mats. It also tends to stretch more in warrior 1 or 2, which I attribute to the lack of a scrim, as it is just a chunk of rubber.I do not mind carrying this heavy mat around, although I had to get another carrying strap as it is very large when rolled up. I wonder if their latex hybrid model works better dry or moves less on the floor.Of the 3 my favorite is the Original Eco Mat for its tenacious grip dry or wet and no slip on any flooring and lack of stretch. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars So Disappointing! *by R***O on Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2017* I really had HIGH hopes for this yoga mat. I was looking for a great cushy, sticky mat. I'm a guy on the bigger side, 6'2, 200 lbs so this mat seemed like it had great potential. I also liked the idea of it being made from recycled tires. Not sure if I just got a bad unit or if they all deteriorate like this. Either way, to receive it in the condition that it arrived in (see pictures) doesn't give me confidence that the next one will be any better or have longevity. The mat looked like old, dried out rubber and was torn and crumbling on both ends.Just to qualify, this isn't my first "rodeo", I've been doing different yoga styles for about 10 years now. My previous mat was a Jade Yoga Fusion mat, nice and thick (5/16 in) and plenty long (74"), accidentally left it in the sun and it lost its sticky nature, figured I would try another brand even though I was relatively happy with that one. I think I'll check out the Prana Revolution Mat, the reviews look good. Would like to think this mat I received was an anomaly and Kharma Khare puts out a better quality mat than this. Unfortunately, I had to return and look elsewhere. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great mat for both hard floors and carpeting *by H***T on Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2015* This is a beast of a Yoga mat. Not anything like the smaller squishy mats I've used in the past. This one give you a solid yet comfortable foundation to work out on. On carpeting it gives me more balance by providing a firmer surface. And on my ceramic tile floors, it gives me a softer (yet still firm) platform to stand on. On both surfaces it lies smooth and flat.It's large too, so even those who are tall can get use this mat. I'm 5'6" and there's more than enough room for me on it. So it would work great for those who are taller/longer. Being a big thick mat, it has some weight to it. So If you're planning on taking this with you to yoga classes, you'll get a bit of a workout just getting it there. Because of this I like it best for in-home use.It gets it's dark color and firm design from being made with 100% recycled rubber tires. So not only are you getting a beast of a yoga mat, you are also recycling in the process, saving a tire from sitting in a landfill somewhere.
