Ok for course threads but on fine threads the gauge is too thick to get down into the threads properly. These are thin metal but stiff enough. The treads are accurately made. Markings are easy to read. Will measure a bunch of things but I got it for the threads. I had a fitting with M14 straight threads but nothing would fit it. Took this and determined it was M14-1.0. Who knew that was even a thing but it is. Saved me a lot of aggravation.
