This shredder here however is not one of those. If you're searching for non-electric, Amazon has a pretty good selection. Hope you find what you're looking for. **Q: What is the run time on this shredder?** A: I haven't used this particular shredder, but my other two personal use low-end shredders will run bunches of 3-5 sheets through as fast as you can feed them for 10-12 minutes before overheating. Then they stop with the "overheat" light on, and they need to cool off for 15-20 minutes before they will restart. This doesn't seem to do any damage. **Q: I have owned 2 of these & both continued to run after I stopped shredding. this is the only problem that I have had . Why ?** A: my guess is that it is a self cleaning mechanism. so there is no paper left between the cutting blades. my last shredded did that a lot. **Q: Does the shredder have automatic overload protection which shuts the machine off if it runs too long or if paper jams?** A: How do you reset the automatic overload protection once the machine stops running.
