These bags were originally designed based on the idea that a Buddhist monk would be able to carry all his possessions inside it! It is adorned with a colorful embroidered "sacred conch" motif, with the Om Mani mantra arrayed below. The Sacred Conch is one of the familiar 8 Auspicious Symbols. It's made with nice quality fabric; I would guess cotton/poly blend, as it is quite wrinkle resistant. Please note: the EXACT TONE OF RED FABRIC MAY VARY. It's sewn with "double" layers of fabric & "double" layers of lining, which provides great comfort on the shoulder. It is machine washable and fully lined with a brighter red fabric, and has an 8 1/4" long interior zippered compartment inside. Imported directly from Nepal, the strap measures 35 inches in length, the bag itself is 16 inches high & 15 inches wide. The total length from the top of the shoulder to the bottom of the bag is 35", making it great for "cross body" carrying. I would hand wash, cold, mainly in deference to the multi-colored embroidery.
