Apple thunderbolt cable MD861ll/a ( buy the original cable ) The struggle: If the built in cable that comes with the display does not automatically connect your display via the USB-C adapter (MMEL2AM/A), then you must connect the thunderbolt cable (MD861ll/a) to the rear thunderbolt port on the back of the display, followed by connecting the other end of the thunderbolt cable to the USB-C adapter connected to you laptop. You should be able to then chain link both monitor to one another or connect a separate monitor to your Mac with the same setup and the first monitor.
