My 3 year old is 3 ft tall and slim. I ordered the size 3-4 for him. It is nearly the same size as one of his tshirts so before I give it to him, I’m ordering one size up because I believe this will give a better whole-costume fit versus from the waist up. However this is what I can say based on examining the costume: If you’re okay with it being Tshirt sized, I’d order your child’s size. The material felt sturdy and well made. It is Velcro on the back and that seems well made. The wings seem very well made and Velcro to the back. They were sturdy and a very good size. I didn’t take the headband out of the package, but it also appears sturdy and true to the advertisement. The fabric is not irritating to feel so it should be comfortable, especially if there’s a shirt underneath. Overall, I think this is a great costume! I think ordering a size up will be ideal, however I’m not taking a star because the picture does show it above the waist (Tshirt length sized) and based off of comparing it to one of my sons shirts, it is not too small- just not quite the size I was expecting. The value seems good especially after looking at so many bumblebee costumes.
