Took me a while to establish it was the button at fault and not the cistern. With some help from you tube, google and desertcart discovered that this is a common problem and inside the button is a bellows, and these often split. I prized apart my button to discover the split, and ordered these replacement bellows from desertcart - one for now, and one for next time. They arrived next day and it took me less than 5 minutes to fit! Of course it took me the whole of the previous day to establish the issue ....but writing this hopefully will save others some time and maybe plumbers costs - £150 for plumber callout and perhaps a second callout for them to bring the part/or new button! The problem is it is always the bellows in the push button that split and cause the problem. I have checked these bellows fir and they do, the rubber feels of a better quality than the original bellows in the push button unit.
