Turns-out that a person generates 0.5 m3 (cubic metres) per 24 hours of CO2 (1kg of CO2), which for my small room of 18m3 means that I exhale 30000 ppm per day, so I'd have to air it out 100 times per day to keep it between 400-700ppm. Thus, I really must balance how drafty my room should be vs how warm; and this affordable monitor helps me find that balance. A: Yes, battery operation and mains operation are possible.

**Q: Does it come with the USB cable and plug?**
A: Yes it comes with USB cable. I don't think it came with any kind of mains plug.

**Q: Can you turn off the display at night so the light does'nt disturb?**
A: You touch the screen to brighten the screen to read it. After 30s it goes so dark you can’t read it. I don’t think the brightest is an issue the rest of the time. Even at night.

**Q: What batteries are required for the battery option?**
A: It uses 3 AAA batteries

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well but long winded setting up

A clever device which works well but the setting up takes time and is irratating to me. Younger folk will take easier to this. If the power is lost it means doing it over again. If careful it may be avoided by always having batteries and USB power and only changing the batteries when the power is present. I now know I only need CO2, temp and humidity so will buy a simpler device.
