What was sent was just two mats and no packaging.The box with it's pictures, front and back, is very descriptive and the people who received this as a gift without the box didn't know what it was.The second photo is what theirs looked like after just one use. The ones I have came with proper authentic packaging and are holding up much better. Did they get the real item or a substitute?

THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT TYPES OF GRILL MATS ON THE MARKET NOW BUT WE HAVE BEEN USING ONLY THE YOSHI MATS SINCE THEY CAME OUT. WHEN WE CAN'T GET THEM IN THE STORES (HOME DEPOT USUALLY AS THEM IF YOU NEED RIGHT AWAY) AMAZON ALWAYS HAS THEM, FOR ABOUT THE SAME PRICE. THEY ARE GREAT BUT MUST BE CLEANED AFTER EACH USE TO PROLONG THEIR LIFE. WE USUALLY USE THEM TILL THEY ARE REALLY BAD AND THEN TOSS. DON'T WANT TO CLEAN GRILL, WONT WANT TO CLEAN THESE EITHER. GREAT THAT YOU CAN CUT THEM FOR THE SMALLER GRILLS OR IF ONLY USING HALF OF YOUR LARGE GRILL.

I bought this product after my parents recommended them for the grill. Bought these, and I am so impressed. It is the best of both worlds- everything great about grilling without the mess at the end. This thing even leaves grill marks and all! It has made grilling outside so much easier and enjoyable. I recommend these to everyone with a grill! I've had these grill mats for a while now, and we are still on the first one. Long lasting!

My wife bought these for me for the grill. I was skeptical. What is this thing, a gimmick?If your BBQ sits outside, and you never clean it, except for a quick wire-brush, why would you want a grill mat? Fair enough. But if you are not in the habit of grilling food into charcoal, and you actually clean up after grilling, you might find this grill mat to be indispensable. I do.The grill mat allows grill-marks to show through, but still cooks very well, and completely contains all the mess. It also keeps the juice on the mat, making the food more juicy too. What's better, it can be customized with a pair of scissors, to fit your grill. I found that cleanup was easy, provided I didn't burn my food. That is, keep it at medium or low, and no charcoal. Sometimes, the grill was too hot, and I made burn marks on the mat, and that made it harder to clean up. Eventually, I tossed it after 2 seasons, because it was getting harder to clean, and started to get a tear from scrubbing it clean. Ok fair enough. I feel that with good grilling technique, I can make this mat last for a long time, several more years.I've had the Yoshi brand, and one other brand, and I find that the Yoshi does really well. It is sturdy, robust, a bit thicker than others I've seen, and uses high-quality materials. It's not that expensive, given it can last for years, and it also extends the life of your grill, which is much more expensive than a mere grill mat.Highly recommended.

This copper grill mat is amazing. I use it for just about everything I cook on my barbecue. It cooks evenly and steaks even retain their grill marks. Great for steaks, fish, veggies, etc. Easy to clean up and it avoids having to use a wire brush my grill. Very pleased with this product. I bought extras for my two daughters.

Over the years my charcoal grill has become difficult to clean and I no longer wanted to cook directly on the surface. These are a nice alternative. That said, in my experience I don't see grill marks on the cooked meat, or if I do they are very faint. Frankly, I don't think this is a big deal but the manufacturer seems to think it's a major selling point. More seriously, I have found these more difficult to clean than I anticipated. Even after scrubbing in soapy water the mat retains some fatty residue and is stained. I tossed my first one after having used it only three or four times. I really don't know what the life expectancy is for a mat, but at $5.00 a mat it's probably just OK in terms of value.

Like so many other grill mats I have tried, you have to treat them very carefully or they get tears(forget about using your usual grill tools) . hey problem is that grease and fat sticks to them in the coioking process and then hardens up. I don't want to put them in the dishwasher that way, so I have scour them before doing. They don't handle scouring well so I feel between a rock and a hard place. This is the third brand I have tried, and they all have these problems. This noted, I will continue to try to find a brand I like, because they do prevent flareups -- which makes having one on the grill a must for me.
