I almost reurned it.I have a Samsung Galaxy 8 Plus. To make this work on my TLC 4K TV, I had to do the following.1. This device requires a Type-C power source. You will notice an empty Type-C slot at the top (the opposite end where the HDMI cord inserts). Mine will not work unless a Type-C charger (the same you use for your phone) is attached and supplying power.2. A high quality HDMI cable. For my new 4K TV, an old HDMI cable I had wouldn't work. I had to order a 4K cable. ASIN: B01KJ0M26A3. I had to plug the Type-C charging cable into the adapter first. Then plug the HDMI cable into the TV, then plug the other end of the HDMI cable into the adapter. Then plug the adapter into the Type-C port on my phone. I could not get this adapter to work until I plugged eveything up exactly as described.4. The adapter gets hot. So, when you're notwatching TV, unplug the adapter from the phone first, then unplug the Type-C charger from the adapter. When you want to watch TV again, plug the Type-C charging cable into the adapter first then plug the adapter back into the phone.* The adapter must be attached to a power source and the HDMI cable must be attached to both the TV and adapter before the TV will recognize the phone as a signal source (at least for my setup).The sync between phone and TV is perfect for both pic snd audio. The pic is awesome and reflects the source. For Netflix streaming downloads, it works great. It also works great for mirroring whatever is on my phone screen.This device will SLOW charge my phone while watching Netflix downloads. I mean super slow. In 2 hours, I went from 35% to 48%. If you have a magnetic induction charger, you can bypass the adapter charging by simply placing the phone on the induction charger and it will charge faster.You cannot watch Netflix (or whatever) and surf the web at the same time unless you have dual screen capability. Your TV will reflect whatever is on the face of your phone. If your phone has dual screen capability, like my SG8 Plus, you can see both screens at the same time. I have a difficult time getting this to work but it will work. ### ⭐ Frustrated *by C***Z on Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2018* Very shortly after connecting it begins to disconnect then reconnect, eventually no longer working at all. Unplugging and re-plugging it makes no difference. (I'm using an LG V30)This behavior has gotten worse over time. It now descends into uselessness after a minute or two of being connected.It's the same behavior with my wife's V30 as well. I simply plug in my hdmi cable from the tv (vizio) into the adapter and then plug in the adapter into my phone. It mirrors my phone so I can watch Netflix and hulu very clear on the tv.
