Review: Fantastic for in-home game streaming - Here's my setup: - Gaming PC with Sunshine game streaming - TP Link Deco XE75 Pro AXE5400 (the product I'm reviewing) - WiFi 6E device with Moonlight installed (in my case, the Steam Deck OLED) My home network is mostly 1 gigabit ethernet, but my gaming PC has a 2.5 gigabit ethernet socket, which I hooked up straight to the living room XE75 node. Installation was pretty straightforward. I bought a 3 pack of XE75s, which I replaced with my old Deco M4s. The replacement process was a little annoying; it kept saying it had failed to transfer my settings to a new main node, but then when I actually checked my network the new node had been registered correctly. So functionally it worked, but the user journey is pretty poor. I expect if you're buying this as a brand new mesh network you're going to have no issues, as the setup of the M4s I bought several years ago was perfect. After all the nodes were installed, I created a separate 6ghz WiFi network exclusively for game streaming devices (in this case, the Steam Deck OLED). As I mentioned above, the gaming PC's 2.5ghz ethernet was wired to the node's 2.5ghz ethernet socket so the PC had a direct connection to the WiFi node I'd be streaming from. I installed Sunshine streaming on my gaming PC (though I imagine Steam Link will also work fine - I just wanted more control over the bitrate), and Moonlight on my Steam Deck. On the Steam Deck, I can essentially max out the bitrate and get a perfect 800p stream from my gaming PC to the Deck. This is overkill, but possible. I put the Deck and my TV (that the PC is hooked up to) side by side and compared lag, and it was nonexistent. Maybe an extremely slight delay that may impact you if you're playing a lag sensitive game (like a fighting game), but for 99% of games out there you won't even notice it. In fact, you'd probably get more lag playing a game at 30fps natively on the Deck or a games console versus the full 90fps that my PC can stream to the Deck at. Image quality is like I'm playing the game natively. No compression artefacts to speak of. Crystal clear. All this while I've got my PC downloading in the background, since the game streaming connection doesn't saturate the bandwidth between my PC and the living room XE75 Deco like it did on my old setup. When I play in a different room with one of the other nodes, I'm limited by 1 gigabit ethernet backhaul, so I need to pause downloads on my PC, but the quality is otherwise just as good. If I improve my wired network switches around my home I can fix this issue, but that's not a fault with this product. As the 6ghz WiFi network is on a separate SSID to the 2.4ghz and 5ghz network, all the other network devices are separate from the streaming client so I don't share WiFi bandwidth with other devices like smartphones and laptops, which sometimes caused lag or bitrate issues on my old setup. The long and short is I can stream a PC game at full bitrate over WiFi 6E and get essentially native-looking and feeling results without any interference from other devices. If you've got a bit of a niche use-case like me, this product does exactly what I needed it to. And frankly, if it can do what I need, it can probably meet your needs to.
Review: 18 Months On: Rock-Solid WiFi to Outdoor Gate Intercom with Zero Dropouts - After 18 months of daily use, I can confidently say this has been one of the most reliable and worthwhile networking upgrades I’ve made. I bought the TP-Link Deco X50 (Outdoor/Indoor) specifically to solve a tricky problem: getting stable Wi-Fi to a gate intercom located roughly 20 metres from the house. Running cables wasn’t practical, and previous Wi-Fi solutions were inconsistent at best. This unit completely solved it. Installation was straightforward. I mounted the outdoor unit in a un-sheltered position and connected it via Ethernet to a TP-Link PoE switch, which made powering and networking it incredibly clean—just a single cable doing everything. The PoE setup has been rock solid with zero dropouts. Performance-wise, it’s been excellent. The signal strength at the gate is now consistently strong, and the intercom connects instantly every time. Video and audio streams are stable with no lag or buffering, which was a major issue before. Even in bad weather—heavy rain, frost, and summer heat—the unit hasn’t skipped a beat. What’s impressed me most is the long-term reliability. Over the full 18 months: * No random disconnects * No need for reboots * Firmware updates have been smooth and uneventful * Seamless integration with the rest of my Deco mesh network Build quality feels premium and properly designed for outdoor use. It still looks and performs like new despite being exposed to the elements. If you’re trying to extend Wi-Fi to an outbuilding, gate, or any awkward outdoor location, especially with PoE available, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this. It’s been a “fit and forget” solution for me. 5 stars without question.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I have a queen anne brick house 6000+ sqft can these be daisy chained perhaps six as opposed to three for fuller coverage? or is there something else.**
A: My butler tells me the coverage in all four wings of the house is impeccable. I rarely get to see the children, but the governess says they never complain of buffering or drop-outs. I suppose the signals travel well over the Italianate marble in main hall, the signal drops in the well-stocked wine cellar, but only to be expected.

**Q: Are these wall mountable?**
A: There are wall brackets available - here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07BS87ZL3/?coliid=I3EZB2PPEB3DGL&colid=3K7HVMY1QQT5T&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

**Q: Can i hard wire all the devices in if i have cables around my home**
A: You can connect all the units to each other over a hard wired connection referred to as Ethernet backhaul in both router & AP mode. In my system I have two units hard wired and one using the default WiFi backhaul.

**Q: Can i still use port forwarding to access specific pcs on my network remotely (eg remote desktop) or should that continue to be done via my router?**
A: I don't know whether anyone else has answered this but from what I've seen (and certainly how I use it) I wouldn't use port forwarding from the Deco. I have seen that you can use the Deco as it's own router which I'd guess would have port forwarding on it but then it would have to go through your own router as well (might make complications). I've got my Deco's set simply as an access point leaving all forwarding via the router. Simpler and I'm then just dealing with one network. (Please note that the default Deco position is one of a separate router but it's an easy change using the iOS app).

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic for in-home game streaming

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fuss free and works well.
*by S***E on 2 March 2026*

Bought this to replace Google Wifi. In addition I bought a Deco XE75 (non-pro) along with this three pack. I'm on FTTP 900Mbps with Zen, all units are connected via Gigabit Ethernet. Get the full speed, and an amazing 5ms ping which my kids enjoy for gaming. Does everything I need - and I have around 130 connected devices. The App is good, but wish that there was a full web interface rather than fiddle about on a phone. It does have provision to use an existing VPN provider, and the OpenVPN protocol - in my testing so far, the speed of using the VPN appears to be a lot slower rather than using a VPN directly on a device. Would I buy again, yes. Works well with Google Chomecast Audio after making changes suggested by ChatGPT. Oh, it also does blend in quite well with plant pots!
