Can't believe I'm giving a bootleg set 5 stars
This is my first bootleg set and I'm not sure how to feel. The first few bricks definitely felt... a little off. But after I got into the groove of it, it just felt 99.5% like a normal set. You can see I've given it 5 stars but here are my gripes first:-Some of the directions are a little vague in a way the standard sets never are, but you just have to look at the next step to see what was done.-Some of the steps are kinda sketchy. The rear window is designed in a way that you cant really open it, and if it falls apart (and it did for me numerous times), it's not that easy to put it back together.-The FLIPPY HEADSLIGHTS DO NOT RETRACT. Almost gave it 4 stars just because of this. Unacceptable. Also they look a little small. gives it a little squinty eyed look instead of the cuter look in the show.-The fender pieces are not supposed to be round. it's supposed to be mostly flat. Without the stickers and the tofu shop writing, it looks like an MK3 or MK2 supra (or any other 80s japanese sports car, honestly)-The taillights don't have any orange in them. From the back it looks like it could be a delorean or something.-A regular set would have very good customer support. If a piece was missing or your stickers got screwed up, you can just send in a form and the standard guys would mail you whatever you needed. I'm not so sure you'd get the same level of service here. I'm happy to report I wasn't missing anything, but it was kind of nerve wracking knowing you might run into a snag and not know if you could finish. Would have been nice to get a second set of stickers-The rear C pillar (on the rear window) white portion is a sticker. Not sure why they decided to do that to save a cent. it's a different shade of white. So after all that, how did it get 5 stars? To start, the sets from the normal guys don't really look good, especially the front. Usually they look like half transformed transformers with wide gaping holes in the front where you're supposed to fill in the blanks with negative space.. or something. Rarely do they look even close to accurate. Some cars I can't figure out what the car is supposed to be, and I'm a car guy. So the standard guys don't even produce an AE86. This is the only way to get one without having to cannibalize other kits, and this one looks pretty good from a foot away. The tofu shop stickers are a nice touch, and there's an actual tray of tofu in the trunk (but don't try to open the trunk...). The wheels look accurate, and most fans of the show can tell what it is immediately. Unlike me and the 911 RSR set...Finally - My 2 year old took it and ran around with it (not that I recommend that as the side view mirrors fall off easily). It just... warms the heart as a car guy. 5 stars.

Night of Fire!
You can check out my video and photos. This was pretty fun to build. There's even engine parts where you can open the hood, but it doesn't open/close like normal (you have to either have it snapped open or closed)If I had to nitpick, the black lines on the side of the car doesn't align continuously.I think it's really cool and nice they even included a display case, so you can even stack it.I love how small it is so I can place it on my desk. I feel like collecting their other models. It would be cool if they make other import cars like from Fast and the Furious (Nissan Skyline?)The price is very affordable too!It has 399 pieces, which is possible to finish within a few hours. Great for adults.

Really cool, really detailed, but prone to shipping damage.
Packaging : A really nice, well printed, interestingly textured box containing the display case containing 5 numbered bags of parts and an instruction manual. The display cases are fairly well packed with bubble wrap, but out of two sets I have gotten that use them, both have been damaged in transit. I'm not taking any points off for that as it's ... not a core element of the set, and it isn't easily avoided.Instructions : A well designed and clearly printed instruction manual is included. The build order makes sense, although the numbered bags do not - the instructions tell you to open them all at once, and you will need to do that.Stickers : The set does use a few stickers, although not an excessive amount. They're all fully necessary for details on this set, and are extremely well printed, well cut, and reasonably well color matched. Details on where to put the stickers are at the very end of the instructions, which makes sense for some (Doors), and far less for others (The rear license plate springs RIGHT to mind).Parts quality : Excellent. Good feel. Good fit. Good finish. Nothing too loose, nothing too tight. The silver-finish parts are very nicely finished - not a full chrome, but very easily ID'd as silver. Nothing missing.Set Design : Above and beyond. The level of detail on things that will be almost impossible to see or that will only ever be seen by the builder is surprising. The vehicle is instantly recognizable as what it should be. There's actually a brick built representation of a tub full of tofu in the back of the car (this only makes sense if you know the manga / anime). The engine is actually fairly well detailed, despite the fact that the hood cannot open and it will almost certainly result in destruction of the vehicle to access it to show it off. Building techniques for the front end use some methods I've never seen before.Personal thoughts : Not only do I recommend this set without hesitation, I am going to be personally buying the other sets in this line (as I did receive this one free for review). Out of the two I have reviewed so far, they've been 'very good' and 'excellent'.

Cool-looking AE86 build and display for the Initial D fan
This is a pretty cool-looking and fun AE86 build for the Initial-D fan. It's pretty much the size of legos as I was able to use the lego removal tool to help with the build. Inside the box everything is well-wrapped even the display case has a plastic bag wrap to prevent it from getting scratched. The build pieces comes in 6 bags similar to how legos are packaged. At first I thought that each bag # gets built separately and then put together for an easy build process. But as I followed the instructions that was not the case. Seems like the the number on the bag is purely nothing but for the manufacturer packaging. You have to open all the bags and search for each requested build piece from all bags and then build. Not much of an organization process but was still easy to put together since the pieces aren't too many or small in size. The instruction booklet was nicely design and provides good detail on putting the pieces together for an easy build. Quality-wise, there were a few pieces that had poor manufacturing blemishes and finishing and just my luck they had to be on the ones that would be visible once completed. The finishing stickers are good quality and well-done and isn't too sticky so that it makes it easy to reapply if you mess up. Once put together it looks great and probably won't even be able to tell the difference if it's Legos or not. Definitely a nice-looking AE86 build for the Initial D fan. I had fun building it and likely only took a couple of hours to put it together.
