Plus, depending on how many times you worked on your car, the clips that hold this in place start to wear down. The heat widens the teeth. And makes them easier to break. So for $20, this is the way to go. It is a real GM part. Not some after market crap. I believe it was made in Germany. As I am typing this, I can't remember and don't have the product in the house. Installation takes 5 minutes. Just pinch the old tabs and pull up. Even if you break a tab, just grab a needle tip plyer and pull it out. The function of this part is to keep water out of your spark plug head. It redirects the rain. So, anytime you are washing the engine, make sure this is on top. Otherwise, water will go where your spark plugs are and rust them. Water may even get inside the engine.
