Not my favorite of Babylit books, but still cute
I was so excited about this particular title and overall love the Babylit line of books. As others have reviewed, there isn't a storyline to follow, but key words and pictures that familiarize children with classics. I think it's a brilliant idea and love this book. I gave it four stars because it's just not my favorite of the Babylit books--the text is cute for the most part, but my daughter just kind of looks up at me confused every time I read it. It's probably the point of the original poem full of nonsense words, but is just odd to a toddler.

Missing All The Best Parts! Don't buy if you love Lewis Carroll!
Noooo! What a sad waste of a great poem! If you love Carroll, skip this purchase. This was produced by people with very little understanding of Lewis Carroll's masterpiece of nonsense, who have not done their homework. They left out the best part (vorpal sword! Snicker snack!), made the rhymes not match up, they ignored Humpty Dumpty's explanation of what the words mean in the poem, and they neutered the Jabberwocky! I feel terrible for having given them money for this travesty.Take a look at that magnificent Jabberwocky that Tenniel illustrated (http://aliceinwonderland.wikia.com/wiki/Jabberwocky) - a fabulous monster. The image in this book doesn't even reference that historic illustration. It certainly doesn't have "jaws that bite, claws that snatch." It's more like scrawny arms that couldn't hurt a fly. The Bandersnatch is so poorly defined that the illustrator felt the need to print "THE BANDERS" on the small animals around it.And look at all the clearly defined words (per _Through The Looking-Glass_ itself!) that the illustrator could have properly illustrated and incorporated:Brillig: four o'clock in the afternoon (the time when you begin broiling things for dinner).Slithy: a portmanteau of "lithe" and "slimy"Tove: a creature the resembles a hybrid of a badger, a lizard and a corkscrew. It lives under sundials and subsists on cheese.Gyre: to go round and round like a gyroscope.Gimble: to make holes like a gimblet.Wabe: the grass-plot round a sun-dial.Mimsy: a portmanteau of "miserable" and "flimsy."Borogove: a type of bird that resembles a mop.Mome: to be lost from home.Rath: a type of green pig.Outgrabe: a noise that's between a bellow and a whistle, with a kind of sneeze in the middle.Children of a very young age do best with accurate representational images, and I was willing to let that slide in order to have Jabberwocky in a board book - but I don't. I could have even stomached only having the first half of the book, but instead I have a censored, thoughtless, clunky mish-mash. Really, print out Jabberwocky from any website and read it to your child. They'll be better served.

A fun book for daddy and daughter
Jabberwocky is one of my husband's favorite poems so when I ran across this book on Amazon I had to buy it for him and my 12 month old daughter for Christmas. They both love it. My husband reads a book to my daughter every night before bed and this one has been a frequent favorite. It is not the entire Jabberwocky poem but I think the most fun parts are included. It has great illustrations that I think really fit the poem well. The book itself is a very sturdy board book and is a good size for either small child or large adult hands. My daughter really loves the colorful illustrations and the silly words and my husband enjoys doing very dramatic readings of his favorite poem and sharing it with his daughter.

Baby lit books are our all time favorite books! They are small books
Baby lit books are our all time favorite books! They are small books, but that does not underestimate the goodness inside. We have ordered just about all of the baby lit books and love to swap them out during seasons and holidays. I also love that they have different primers and different types of learning for your little one. These books are great gift ideas, there are a lot of genres to choose from. The artwork and colors are bright and vivid, very pleasant to look at. The mommy and the teacher in me loves and approves these books!

A delight to read to my newborn little lady.
I gave the BabyLit Jabberwocky Baby Book 5 stars. The author Jennifer Adams uses the story Jabberwocky (from "The Looking Glass") as a short for babies. It's a delightful book to read to my little one. The artwork and vibrant colors by Alison Oliver are phenomenal. I truly recommend mommy's buy this book (and the series) for their babies. I truly enjoyed reading this book to her. Hope they add more to the kindle format.

a fan of Babylit but this was hard to follow
I typically love Babylit books because of the main illustrator, Alison Oliver. Her imagery is so fun and lively and this book is no exception. While I know it's a "nonsense primer" I didn't expect it to solely have nonsense words in the book, since the poem has a little more meaning peppered in. It's for that reason that my 24 month old son doesn't look at this book very much at all, which is a shame because of the beautiful illustrations.

Baby approved!
Jabberwocky is my favorite poem. Sure this book doesn’t have all the lines, but do you really want lines like “he left it dead and with its head he went...” in a baby’s book? The illustrations are amazing. This is one of my 4 month old’s favorite books. She gets really excited when I bring it out.

No Nonsense Primer...
Good illustrations nice and colorful, Buy only if you are ready to explain the weird creatures to kids. Only meant for those who have read the poem else it will be all Jibberish and make no sense..

Fantastic board book
This book tells a classic poem, slightly abridged and with lovely, imaginative illustrations. There isn't really a story, because this is excerpts from Lewis Carroll's famous poem, but children that I've read it to don't seem to mind that. They love the nonesense words and the pictures that go with them. I bought this as a present for a friend, but had to buy another as my 4 year old daughter didn't want to part with it. She's probably a little too old for it, but the pictures and general presentation were so good that it doesn't feel like a baby book. The overall quality of the book is excellent. The board is a good thickness and this makes it quite a sturdy book. I'm certain that this will last for some time.
