I'll skip for the moment that it has no NDC code (National Drug Listing Act of 1972) or declaration of dietary ingredient based on nutritional supplement origin (Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994) and no drug facts box (21 CFR 201). Look at the picture of the back of the package. Notice how almost the entire back has been overlabeled with a statement that the active ingredient (by the way, anything that has an active ingredient is a drug - Sections 501 and 502 of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act of 1938) is "ginger extract"? Now look carefully at the front side. I've attached a screen shot in case they try to change the product page photo after I post this. The active ingredient is scopolamine, commonly known as "truth serum," and it comes not from the ginger plant but from the DEADLY NIGHTSHADE (do feel free to double-check my facts if you think I am making up one word of this). Yes, scopolamine is used in low doses for motion sickness, and I can vouch that it can be effective. But this product is not only a powerful drug, not only mislabeled (which makes it misbranded and a felony to market, 21 U.S.C. 352(A)(1)), but...do you really want to buy a powerful, potentially very dangerous drug from a company that is not only illegally importing it (any product meeting the definition of a drug that lacks FDA listing with an NDC would be detained by Customs at the port of entry), illegally marketing it (the Prescription Drug Advertising Act of 2004 and specifically 21 CFR 202.1(a)), illegally distributing it (scopolamine patches require a prescription per New Drug Application NDA017874, and prescription drugs can only be distributed by a healthcare professional licensed in the state of distribution), but lying about what is in it?Not giving it a single star simply because I don't know that it is not safe and effective, so a single star would be unfair.EDIT: read the attached response by the distributor, one of the most ridiculous responses ever: "scopolamine" is just another name for motion sickness the way a "hot dog" doesn't contain dog.
