I am not a hunter here in CA...but live in rural Northern California. I know some people in White Tail Country might really laugh at me feeding a family of Northern Pacific Black Tail Deer...who all have names. I have fed them Monster Meal now for over 3 years. I am a Naturalist...I just love how beautiful my little herd is. Monster Meal makes their coats, especially in summer, GORGEOUS! I mix the pellets with chopped raw veggies and fruit...try mixing popcorn, my deer love to play with it LOL! They love to see who can get to the Monster Meal first!...I HONESTLY sit approx 8feet from them to give verbal encouragement as most of the time I can get them to tolerate each other lined up bucks next to does...yes even the newest spotted fawn next to Mom. The deer had already stripped everything (including laurel; Chinese holly ; and blue rug spreading junipers) . Be patient it has taken 2 weeks before something (hopefully deer) started to eat and empty the feeders. As a result I have reordered the pellets.
