All functions are available with the exception of turning the tv off and on. Not sure why, but I have to now use the tv remote to turn it off. Any suggestions? **Q: Will I be able to hear sound from both my sound bar and tv, or do I have to choose one or the other?** A: With my LG 65SJ8000 65" TV, I could only enable BlueTooth or the in-set sound, but not both at the same time. This is a fault of the TV and not the sound bar. **Q: is there an optical cable** A: Yes, an optical cable is included. It is about a 3 feet in length. For a better connection I would still purchase one. **Q: can this sound bar be used with all tvs?** A: No. I purchased this sound bar to be used with a new TV that I had purchased, and found that the TV did not have a port to plug the sound bar into.
