What I appreciate in this book is that it taught me the kind of language I would need in everyday conversation.So it is like gaining experience before traveling . The story is cute and entertaining. This one is the easiest and they gradually get more difficult. The thing I like the most about these books is authentic Italian flavor. I'm living in Italy as I read them and they match what I'm experiencing of Italians and memories of my Italian family. The characters are mostly young adults, usually women, and you read their thoughts as they face strange situations. The other thing I like about the stories is that you truly get interested and want to know what's going to happen next. Each book got a little better and the fourth one (Verità Sepolte) was by far the most interesting to me. Supernatural elements are common in these stories, which adds a sense of mystery at the cost of making things less realistic. The author also has audio versions of some of the books, which she reads herself, via her websites. They are perhaps a little too authentic for me because she speaks so fast. Indeed this has been my experience with many native Italian speakers. The idioms are explained within the text which pleases me a lot. I especially liked that there was a summary at the end of each chapter to recapitulate the chapter. The author does a good job.
