My car is a 2008 Toyota Camry XLE but it does not have a back-up camera at all. My first thought was to buy a car that already had a factory back-up camera built in but my Camry is in great shape and I just didn't want to spend $20k+ for a car that has the feature I needed.I searched Amazon for aftermarket backup cameras and found hundreds of them.My first purchase was a camera that was built into a license plate frame and transmitted the camera image to my cell phone. I installed it and tried it out but I was very disappointed with it! It turned out that I had to run the "APP" every time I got in my car then disconnect from my home's wifi so the camera's wifi could connect. This was VERY inconvenient so I decided to look for a back-up camera that had it's own screen.I settled on this AMTIFO unit for several reasons:1) Price was great for a unit with a 7" monitor. (4 & 5 inch units just seemed t0o small to me)2) The camera attached behind my rear license plate, using the screws that hold the license plate on, so no drilling for mounting holes.3) The camera has six white LEDs to illuminate the surroundings behind me at night.4) Reviews for this particular unit on Amazon are decent.I installed the camera and wired it directly to my reverse light wiring, which was in the trunk lid. That left the transmitter antenna just under the trunk lid, hidden by the carpeted cover piece.The monitor itself comes with two different styles of dash mounts. One is a steel bracket that is designed to be screwed to the dash. (I did not want to use screws.) The other is an adjustable pedestal mount with a very large double-sided adhesive pad to "stick" the monitor pedestal base to your dash top. I tried the adhesive pad approach but it failed to hold in the very hot Alabama summer sun and the monitor tipped over repeatedly. Seems that the adhesive gives up when it gets really hot.I ended up ordering a suction cup mount and mounted the monitor to my windshield up high. This worked great. By the way, the monitor has an external adjustable antenna on the back that works well. I adjusted it to get the most stable signal from the camera without issue.So far, I am very pleased with the performance of this unit. It yields a clear picture and lets me back up without turning my head now, which is exactly what the doctor wanted.Overall, this camera is an extremely good value for someone that desires a back-up camera with a large monitor. I highly recommend it.AMTIFO offers a free gift you can have sent to you if you contact them as well. Just refer to the operation manual for instructions on how to claim it. Mine came promptly in less than a week once I contacted them, and I am pleasantly surprised to have received it. No, I did not have to write a review to receive my gift but I wanted to mention here that I did! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Installation Instructions could be better but easily installed anyway. *by A***R on December 20, 2018* I bought this backup camera for a school bus I am converting. I liked that it had a 66-foot long cable between the camera and monitor, since I needed to run about 45 feet of cable from the rear of the bus to the dash. I took everything out of the box and connected it up on the workbench before installing it, just to make sure it worked properly. The "Installation Instructions" are lacking, both in content and in English, but the system is super simple. One thing I noticed: the cable has connectors for two video cameras, so you can install a second camera, but they don't appear to labeled "V1" and "V2". If you hook everything up and don't get a picture on the monitor, either switch the video connection (yellow plug), or use the buttons on the monitor to switch to the other Video Input.I hooked mine up so that the monitor is on all the time, so I can see what's behind me while driving. The manual says you can hook the blue wire to power to make V2 the primary camera, but I didn't hook the blue wire up at all, since I only have one camera at this time. The kit comes with provisions to hard-wire into your vehicle, or use a cigarette lighter-type plug (provided) that has an on/off switch on it. It comes with a monitor mount bracket that uses double-sided adhesive, but the installation guide mentions that you can also use a suction cup mount (not included, but the manual says they will send you one for free if you ask). The camera has infrared for night vision, but I haven't tried mine at night yet.Overall, I would recommend this setup. It has a nice, clear, wide angle view and is easy to install. The only downside is the quality of the instructions. ### ⭐ NOT for SUVs, Trucks or Vans. *by S***E on April 30, 2020* This is false advertising. As soon as I read the instructions I realized I'd probably been ripped off because they said clearly for small cars only NOT for SUVs or trucks.I thought I'd go ahead and install it anyway. It tested fine on the table but once I installed it, the signal was way too weak to make it useful.I was installing it on a Mercedes Sprinter.
