I bought it for my SI fusion I had and the ice pack effectively releases the inflammation and pain. I prefer these over the hospital gel ice pack they sent me home with. These are flatter, not bulky and spread out well glad or folded to freeze. This makes it easier to put in my smaller freezer among other items because it folds up small or lays almost flat.

I’m not sure what gel they use but the quality is so good it stays cold for an hour. I like that it is flexible even after freezing. It can easily be folded to adjust the size of area. This is a nice size pad. It freezes quickly and can be folded into thirds for easy storage. I used them frequently when I broke my shoulder and it was comfortable and flexible. It did help with the pain relief and I did not detect a smell. Easy to use.
