Would this work in a similar way?** A: The handle for this is a wooden stick, so it would be harder to hold comfortably while a kid runs ahead the way they can on a backpack-leash. It might work, but I don’t think it would work as well as the backpack. **Q: I want to get this for my 15m old to bring him ice skating. Just put the strap that goes between the legs first then through the loop that is on there run the other strap that has the Velcro strap face up first and then just put the other piece to connect. My bb is smaller than others (preemie birth so he's smaller than other babies his age) but this harness IS ADJUSTABLE so it fits him snug. He took right off wobbling walking, excited screeches and babbles. He picks where we go and I follow along happily. The harness straps connected to the bar is also adjustable so it don't matter if your tall or short (like me) it easily adjusts to your preference.
