RIDICULOUS TOOTHBRUSH. WHAT A SHAME. *by T***C on September 23, 2023* The design of this NEST TOOTHBRUSH is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. Right up there with a Lamborghini Miura and a Ferrari 250 GTO. It’s stunning.Now for how it works. Not well. Badly, actually. Right off, I couldn’t open the box, which is very attractive and well-made. But the lid fits too tightly onto the bottom of the box. I opened it using a screwdriver to wedge my way inside.Gorgeous packaging. Instructions in perfect English, with some very nice sketches of the product and its parts. Though the instructions tell you everything you need to know, in my opinion, they’re oversimplified. This toothbrush looks sleek and effortless, but it’s anything but that. It’s complicated.I squeezed toothpaste into the bottom half of the toothbrush and pressed where I was told to press, several times for the toothpaste to be dispensed. I pressed a lot. I got tired of pressing and moved on to the next thing.I charged the two parts of the toothbrush system that are meant to be charged: a cap at the bottom of the toothbrush that pulls out, and the UV sterilizer, which sits atop the magnetic stand. Both parts actually came charged, but I was postponing the inevitable second try at pushing, pushing, pressing, pushing, to get the toothpaste to dispense. And finally, it did.The magnetic stand comes with a plastic film over its silicone bottom that you’re supposed to peel off after you decide where you want to place the stand. You can move it to a different location on your sink, but then you have to wash the silicone and let it dry. The thing sticks pretty well, but it’s not permanent, thank goodness.Before I actually brushed my teeth with the toothbrush, I followed the instructions on how to use the Travel Case. First, you move the UV sterilizer to the stand, and then you insert the brush with the bristles facing the cover. I did it, but it wasn’t easy. The brush does not slide smoothly into the case. At all. But the worst was yet to come.I pulled out the brush from the case and… the bottom cap of the brush stayed behind. And I mean it was stuck good. I used a chopstick. I used a small offset spatula. I used a skewer. (The travel case cover/lid doesn’t open all the way, so you can’t get your fingers in there to pull out the stuck cap.) I used two skewers at the same time, and that finally unstuck the cap. It was an ordeal that took almost an hour.Relieved, I snapped the case closed. And suddenly realized that the UV sterilizer was still attached to the case. But now I couldn’t open the case. I did quickly figure out that there’s a place at the bottom of the case that you press, and the cover pops open.I moved the UV thing back to the magnetic stand, and brushed my teeth. Which was a surprisingly pleasant experience.PS: Is this a $178, one-time use toothbrush? No replacements brushes came with this product.This toothbrush is ridiculous. What a shame. ### ⭐ If I could give zero stars I would *by S***H on October 27, 2023* I have repeatedly contacted Nest in regards to one of the four toothbrushes I ordered that does not work. Someone answered my initial email asking which model/color I was referring to and I never heard back from you again. I have emailed back repeatedly. This is the worst case of customer service I have ever experienced in my life. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!!!! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Very Mixed Feelings, Toothbrush Head Feels Clunky, Concerns About Bacteria in Holding Tank *by O***R on September 17, 2023* Although this "NEST Electric Self-Dispensing/Self-Cleaning Sonic Toothbrush" (in Black) looks very high end and sleek, the actual toothbrush head feels very clunky and unmanageable for my mouth. The thicker silione bristles on mostly the outer edges with the finer bristles in the middle just didn't leave my teeth feeling as clean as when using a soft, finer bristled sonic toothbrush.I very much like having the built-in UV sterilization station built into the artsy stand. The toothbrush magnetically mounts to the stand while the head is sterilized while not in use. The idea of sticking toothpaste into this brush is really cringe to me and I wonder about the build-up of saliva going in through the bristles to the toothpaste feeding holes from the holding tank. I feel like there's something unsanitary about that and wish this came without that option.The sonic portion works well, just like my other sonic toothbrush with reminder stutters at 30 second intervals. I like the look and the sanitizing portion, but the main area, the brush head, doesn't get my teeth as clean-feeling as my inexpensive sonic toothbrush. I guess it depends on the individual, but the brush head isn't for me nor is the toothpaste dispensing system until I know that bacteria can't get cross-contaminated from trapped saliva in the resevoir. It's a beautiful toothbrush, but a bit much for the issues I have with it.
