The system in the house has a conventional loft based cold water header tank with a hot water cylinder heated indirectly by a gas boiler. We’ve connected the pump between the mixer shower output and the rose hose via an extra length of standard 10mm shower hose. We’ve bought a switch mode 12v 10amp power supply mounted outside the bathroom so that there is only a 12v lead with a 12v pump switch in the bathroom. It works brilliantly! It’s not any more noisy than a typical impeller type shower pump. It produces a nice strong stream of water, perfect for a good shower! We’ve built the pump into a small MDF enclosure positioned next to the mixer end on the bath. We’ve added some rubber feet to the mounting to improve the vibration. For good measure we’ve installed the supplied inlet filter although I don’t think it’s totally necessary for this type of installation. Therefore I only use it for water at is at less than 25 c. It be capable of higher but it's not intended to run a hot water system, were hot water passes through the pump. My pump is fitted before the water heater so pushes cold in to water heater and hot is forced hot enablinng one pump to operate hot and cold . **Q: Are the screw thread fittings in the photo included with the pump?** A: Yes they are in the two I purchased - not sure about this particular pump as the supplier tends to blend feedback across all the pumps **Q: Do you sell one that can handle diesel** A: I am sorry no. **Q: I need to do ground water sampling. Would this be able to pump groundwater from as deep as 40m up a 10mm hose to ground level?** A: It's physically impossible to suck water up 40m, even with a perfect pump. If you create a perfect vacuum at the top of the hose, the water will only be pulled up 10m. To pump water up higher, you need to put the pump at the bottom of the hose, where it can *push* the water up.
