Review: "Now that's what I call a dinghy" - We bought this dinghy for our son, daughter-in-law and 2 grandchildren (aged 6&4) who regularly take camping holidays in Europe just as we did when our sons were young and when we enjoyed a similar sized dinghy for many years. The boat was used for the first time on their recent trip to France and drew admiring looks and comments from fellow campers, notably "now that's what I call a dinghy". Most people had opted for tiny inflatables big enough for one child and useful for little more than messing about in the shallows but we chose this one for the long term. The boat took the 2 adults and 2 kids comfortably and was perfectly stable for exploring the whole inland lake. As the children grow, it will still take one adult in addition to them but at this stage, dad seemed to get the most fun from it, re-living memories!! We felt that the 3 piece kit was great value - the oars were perfectly good enough at this stage (they can always upgrade later if they want) and the foot pump was quick to use. Other potential buyers should beware of the desertcart footnotes that "people who bought this item also bought an electric pump" as the instructions warn against using them, so save your money to put towards life jackets instead!!! It would be a large and heavy item to take on holiday other than self-drive trips and it's heavy for younger kids to carry but that's the downside to a boat for the whole family or for older kids and to get this level of stability. Provided the boat proves to be as durable as it appears, it should last many years and at this stage we are delighted with it and would thoroughly recommend.
Review: Decent two person boat or luxurious one person boat - This IS actually a two person boat. Though it might not be greatly comfortable there is definitely enough room for two people. I have another two person boat that is significantly smaller than this one. But for one person there is an enormous amount of room inside the boat to sit or lie down, as well as plenty of space for a large bag or two. It seems to be a semi-toughened boat, being slightly thicker and tougher than a basic inflatable boat, but not quite as heavy and rigid as a toughened boat, which makes it a bit easier to pack away. It packs down with the oars and pump to about 35 litres if packed efficiently, however it's a very tight fit and I use a 45 litre backpack to carry it for a mile or two to the water, which allows for looser packing and extra items. I was glad of this because after using it in the water and then quickly packing it away in the mud it only just fit into the bag. Since it is a bit wider and much longer than my other boat I thought there would be a lot more drag and the boat would be slower but I really didn't notice any significant difference. I was already impressed by the boat before I used it, but after seeing how well it performs in the water I was even more impressed. There seems to be a gutter designed to collect any water that gets into the boat, so it doesn't end up right under where you're sitting! There are plenty of available loops all around the boat to tie things to for towing, mooring, stringing up a cover, a sail or any other modifications you want to make. The pump that comes with it works great, and the oars also are good except for the annoying lump in the middle. But of course you can just replace them, however it's not too bad so I'll probably keep using them. Overall it's a fantastic luxury boat for one person and their luggage that can easily carry a passenger, has a decent cruising speed (2mph or a bit less) and it's not extremely large and heavy so can quite easily be carried around in a bag.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: can you fit a skeg to it as it seems to veer too easily?**
A: To make a skeg, first, you take the dinglepop, and you smooth it out with a bunch of schleem. The schleem is then repurposed for later batches.

Then you take the dinglebop and push it through the grumbo, where the fleeb is rubbed against it. It's important that the fleeb is rubbed, because the fleeb has all of the fleeb juice.

Then a Shlami shows up and he rubs it, and spits on it.

Then you cut the fleeb. There's several hizzards in the way.

The blaffs rub against the chumbles, and the plubus and grumbo are shaved away.

That leaves you with a regular old skeg!

**Q: Is it natrual for the second and third chamber to deflate at the same time**
A: It's possible but extremely unlikely. With this design the inner chamber can only really be damaged from inside the boat, and the outer chamber is the one that will most often get damage from the outside. So you would have to get damage from both the inside and the outside at the same time, which doesn't seem natural at all!

**Q: Does the 2 seater come with seats**
A: The Challenger 2 does not have seats

**Q: Can i fit 50 people in this at rough seas?**
A: No.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worth the money
*by D***K on 16 July 2021*

Was looking at this for a while so when it came down in price a bit, I decided to take the plunge (metaphorically speaking). Off I went with my son like proper townies down to a nearby reservoir and set sail. We were still afloat after the first minute which I vocally considered a success. There is a technique to rowing which, after an hour on the water, I had yet to master. I spent more time going round in circles while trying to convince my son that's what's supposed to happen. Pleased with the sturdiness and robustness of it and impressed with what you get for your money. Nice little touches mean the oars won't drift away if you let go and they also clip on to the side of the boat. Doesn't take long to pump up using the supplied pump (5mins after the first practice). Good size for myself and my son (10 Yr) . You could fit 2 adults but would be a squeeze. Alternatives look a bit flimsy and are more for swimming pools but this is good for reservoirs, lochs, lakes and canals. Probably OK in the sea if sticking near the shoreline on a calm day but I reckon you need a certain level of ability to do that which I don't have. We'll worth it even if you were to only use it occasionally.
