None of the wobbly movment of bean bag cushions. **Q: Can you use this for to put A4 paper on, and is it firm enough for a writing surface?** A: This item is firm enough for a writing surface. The edge of the tray slopes off for around a centimetre. There is a rubber stop at the bottom and if A4 paper in portrait is put against this stop, the paper overhangs this ledge. (It does not overhang the board) I would not let this put you off as you would just use the paper overhanging the rubber stop at the bottom instead. I use for writing as well as for my pixel book.
