I have issues with bumps and ingrown hairs around my chin, and using this product with an electric razor is the closest I've come to eliminating the problem. **Q: Red vs green, is the red really better for coarse beards?** A: Both work well with tough beards in my experience. if you prefer menthol and want to use a matching pre shave, go with the green. if you prefer sandalwood and or don't like pre shave, the red is a bit better. This is a pleasant shave too but I think I'll go back to the soap in a bowl and just squish my relatively small bowl in the next time - my issue is that this has oatmeal bits in it, which, feels a bit weird on your skin and they get stuck between the blade and handle of my safety razor. You can wash them out but it's all a bit claggy. A cut throat razor would be a more suitable blade for use with this.
