I was pleasantly surprised. The softness is excellent, on par with any other new cotton towel, if not superior. It would have been nice not to have a label on each of the cloths, but in any case, it's a soft, fabric label rather than the plastic kind, and allows you to hang them from a hook to dry. The size for a face cloth is perfect. Some of the pictures are a bit misleading in that regard. Apparently you're supposed to wash them by hand.
