Occasionally it can crack and bleed or weep. Hence the interest in this product. After a couple of weeks of regular use the cream appears to have had some moisturizing effect, but perhaps not the miracle that I was (unrealistically) expecting. What I should have done is used it on one leg and for comparison, a different product on the other. However, I will continue to use it and report back if there is / a longer term improvement / my leg falls off / I win a lovely legs competition. Certainly the cream has an immediate soothing effect, upon application and is probably helping. Although to be fair perhaps using / olive oil / Vaseline / old chip fat, would have been as efficacious.
