The armband is plugged into the main unit and after setting up the date and the time it will go ahead and measure your blood pressure. It also measures your heartbeat although that seems to be quite slow for me. To me the critical thing is that whether you know your Systolic from your Diastolic pressures it tells you in the same commanding voice whether you are in danger or not. I would actually rather it had a way of turning the voice off as I don't really need it or want it and it is quite loud. Having said all of that it seems like good value although there were cheaper ones at places like Superdrug.

It is easy to set up and comes in two parts, the arm band and the battery powered measurement unit. The armband is plugged into the main unit and after setting up the date and the time it will go ahead and measure your blood pressure. It also measures your heartbeat although that seems to be quite slow for me. To me the critical thing is that whether you know your Systolic from your Diastolic pressures it tells you in the same commanding voice whether you are in danger or not. I would actually rather it had a way of turning the voice off as I don't really need it or want it and it is quite loud. Having said all of that it seems like good value although there were cheaper ones at places like Superdrug.

The blood pressure monitor is excellent and easy to use for someone like me with very poor vision. However, mine is now dead after less than four months. I hadn't used it for a few weeks and heard it making an odd beeping sound. Inspection showed that the supplied AA batteries had leaked. I've cleaned the battery compartment but the device no longer operates. I'll get another, but this time I won't install the included batteries. I wasn't able to check the expiry date on the supplied batteries but they certainly expired within a few months! I'm guessing that this was old stock. I did get another a few months later in July 2022. The supplied batteries were marked with an expiry date of May 2020!
