Review: Genius idea - dead handy - no mess - quick clean up! - I spotted this measuring cup in John Lewis some months ago and was about to by three - one for me and one for my sister and my partner. Thought I'd check good old desertcart and hey presto! Much cheaper and prime delivery - no brainer. I've been using it for some months now and I am well impressed with this little measuring marvel! You know when something takes your eye and you think 'Wow! that's brilliant!' this is one of those things. I love kitchen stuff and had to have one of these as it looks cool being retro - it can measure more or less everything you can think of - it's metal - it's lightweight and takes up no space at all and it's easy to clean! So what can it measure and what upto? - English Cups upto 1.5 - English Pints to 1.75 - American Cups to 1.5 - American Pints to 1.75 - Millilitres to 400mls - Rolled Oats/Fresh Bread Crumbs to 100g - Dessicated Coconut to 100g - Cornflour/Cocoa to 200g - Ground Almonds/Shredded Suet to 150g - Sugar/Rice to 250g - Lentils/Barley/Peas/Haricots to 250g - Sultanas/Tapioca to 250g - Ground Rice/Currants/Semolina/Raisins to 200g - Custard Powder/MilkPowder/Flour/Icing Sugar to 200g All weight measurements are in increments of 50g or 1oz. **Q: Can someone tell me - are the American cup sizes on this for dry or liquid measurements?**
A: The cup sizes are for either dry or liquid.  A cup of water is the same as a cup of flour. So I don't quite get the question. On the other hand both English and American pints are on here, as are cups and a basic milliliters chart. All of the dry measuring items, such as rice or tapioca give bother ounces and grams. So, one could easure 100 grams of rolled oats or 4 oz of rolled outs, or 1 cup of rolled oats (English or American). Hope that's helpful.

**Q: Does this measure porridge oats?**
A: The cooks measure is marked with a number of dry weight measurements, so if your porridge oats are dry, then the answer is yes.

**Q: can this be used to measure carbohydrates**
A: Different dry ingredients are written on the inside of the measurer with a volume (fill up to line). However being made from a single stamped pressed metal it won't hold liquids as they leak from seam where it has been machine pressed.ie sugar, flour etc. Also if hand washing you have to ensure it is completely dry before storage or else it will rust . Hope this helps?

**Q: Why is 5 the minimum order on this?????**
A: I am sure is isn't. If you change the style number on the order page it will revert back to 1. and that is all you need to order.  It was all I did. Hope this helps.

As poor students we don't often have scales, I've bought a pare of ASDA smartprice scales, but they were awful, they couldn't sense weights, and when tested with a 100g weight, they were wildly inaccurate, bought an electric scale from amazon which was damaged but I never sent back adn when I went to use it I realised the batteries were dead! So I decided I needed something foolproof! something that wouldn't need much maintenance and couldn't lose accuracy- this seemed perfect, saw it when searching for cup measurements as I have no idea how to use anything but weights! Really convenient, baked a cake using it with my housemate, who can't bake to save her life, and it turned out perfectly, it wasn't through our efforts it was thanks to the Cook's Measure! Also it comes with a quaint infomation booklet telling you who handmade it <3
