Sharp knives again!
I've had a few knife sharpening gadgets over the years and they always seemed to end up getting chucked away. But with my kitchen knives becoming blunter and blunter I gave in to optimism and tried this one.Very glad I did, all my kitchen knives are really sharp again. I now keep this gizmo on the work top by my knife block so that I can run a knife through it a few times every so often to keep them sharp and not let them gradually go blunt again. The sharpener is nicely made with a good handhold and a fully rubber covered base that ensures the sharpener doesn't move while in use. The two sharpening sections are easy to use, simple v shapes inset in slots that you just pull the knife backwards through. One set are for coarser grinding of dull blades while the other is for the fine grinding. When I first used it I found I was missing the slot every so often, but with practice I seem to have got better and better. One thing I've found is that it is easier when you do draw the knife through with the point angled slightly down (and it feels as though the grind is more effective too). When I first worked on my very dull knives I gave each blade 20 pulls through the 'coarse' grinder followed by 20 through the 'fine' grinder. This worked extremely well. Since then I've reduced the number of times I draw the knife through. Now I just do 5-6 'pulls' on a knife to keep the blades very sharp.Testing the blade by (only) touching my thumb against it I can feel how sharp the blade is now and I've been cutting through anything and everything again with ease. So, not the cheapest sharpener on offer, but based on the build, ease of use and results I've achieved I'm very happy to recommend it.

Just brilliant
Careful though, it really really sharpens your knives. Wafer thin tomatoe slices. Easy to use and very stable. You only need to run the blades a couple of times through the sharpener and they stay sharp for ages. Remember, you buy this because your knives are blunt and once you've sharpened them, they become a different knife that deserves respect in the kitchen. Great product, great design and gives life to all your old blunt and annoying knives, so, saves money too as you'll not need to buy new ones. Well done the manufacturer. 😁

Reasonably priced
No wonder these are good sellers they really do put a great sharp edge to all my knives , Instructions are clear and it is very easy to use . I was surprised at its light weight and how compact it is and how steady it is to hold in place when using . It would make a very useful and affordable gift . I highly recommend !

Surprisingly Good
I've bought two of these which, is a testament to how good they are.The first I bought overseas where I work under a different brand name and this one when I came back on leave because I was so impressed. To expand a little, I have a good sized workshop and typically when I get home on leave I gather up the knives which inevitably my better 3/4 has used and blunted and then I spend an hour or so with my Japanese water stones getting them all back to razor sharp levels. I can sharpen to a level better than most chefs, honestly.But.... after I bought this, I don't bother anymore. Okay, my chisels, planes and other tools are still done on my stones but kitchen knives? Nope.Literally this can take a blunt knife and in less than five minutes you have a very sharp knife. If you are just after a quick hone then a few seconds is enough. I really couldn't believe how good it is.There are two grades of abrasive. The left hand side is a coarse one and the right is a fine ceramic to put a fine edge on your knife. You simply draw the knife through the groove and in a short while you get a keen edge.Only one thing to watch out for. Most people have a tendency to put more pressure on the mid point of the blade and thus eventually you end up with a weird shape. You must make special effort to put pressure on the tip to ensure the shape is maintained.Another quick thing. This sharpener is brand marketed under various names. Just have a search and buy the cheapest. This at the time was the cheapest I could get.Overall, a superb kitchen tool.

Sharpener
I feel this is rather disappointing as it doesn't seem to sharpen knives very well. I got one for home use and one for a gift for someone else. However, I didn't feel it was effective to offer as a gift.

THE BEST KNIFE SHARPENER I'VE EVER USED
This really is a great product, it looks good, works very well and is just the right size. It arrives in smart packaging and immediately looks good when removed from its black box. It has a simple handle which is used to compress the tool against a flat surface to stop it moving around as the knife is sharpened, this simple design works well. The instructions explain that there are two sets of grinding wheels, steel for initial sharpening of blunt blades and a ceramic pair for honing sharp blades into very sharp blades. With the steel sharpener the knife is pulled firmly through at an angle of 20°, with the ceramic it is pulled gently through at the same angle. The result, very quickly, is a razor sharp knife, as sharp as it was the day you bought it! After I sharpened my first knife I was so impressed that I then went through my knife drawer and sharpened all my knives. The operation is so quick and simple that the maker's recommendation that knives be refreshed regularly to maintain their edge seems very reasonable.Just to confirm, I have no connection whatsoever with the manufacturers, they just make a very good product.
