I'm concerned that it could contain bacteria that could cause an infection in the sinuses.** A: I'm presuming it is. I have used it for a number of years without any ill effects. Once you follow the instructions and rinse the nozzle well after each use - you should be fine. In fact I was using another solution that I had to premix in a bottle before using and my asthma consultant recommended switching to Sterimar, if I had an infection.
