I use them when working next to air cooled engines / industrial equipment which drones, excellent sound deadening. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The earmuffs are well designed and are quite sturdy. They do fold up into the headband *by A***R on 26 May 2016* After doing a lot of research reading reviews and product descriptions I decided to go with these. The number of 5* reviews was quite impressive, with only a few negative comments, some of which were from reviewers using the product for things other than it was strictly designed for. Nothing wrong with that, but you have to take comments from people with an open view.The earmuffs are well designed and are quite sturdy. They do fold up into the headband, which is a particular bonus and make storing and transporting in a bag/box a lot easier than ones that don't.The headband is quite firm, in that it does add a reasonable amount of pressure to your ears.In essence, this must be due to the manufacturers being able to claim a low noise level transmitted to your ears - something they make a lot of in their product claims. This is not necessarily a bad thing, and depends on the ambient noise levels you are buying them for. Perfect for construction environments, or even home DIY using petrol/electric machinery (garden mowers/strimmers/chainsaws or drills/power tools etc). Perhaps not so ideal for sleeping in though.The downside is that they are not perhaps as comfortable as other brands I have used.The other unavoidable issue is that your ears will sweat and after 30 minutes of using them my ears were hot.However, the thick plastic covered foam padding was ok.
