The cushion is definitely on the more bouncy side rather than being soft or mushy. I personally would've preferred it if it was a tad bit more on the softer side because as I'm sitting on it, it feels as if there's resistance to it from sinking into the cushion-hence what I meant by bouncy. The fabric itself is soft and has velvety feeling to it which I liked.
