The lower you have the thermostat the less electric it will use too. But it's not far off rthe heat you'd get off a large halogen floodlight. Power wise think of two 60 watt bulbs being on. **Q: Can I use this heater in a greenhouse safely** A: Hi David, a lot will probably depend on your power supply socket, and if there is the likelihood of water/splashes near it. I have a weatherproof power socket within my greenhouse, which can be sealed after appliances are plugged in, preventing any water/humidity ingress. The appliance keeps the chill off the greenhouse on frosty evenings/nights, and albeit it has a thermostatic cut out, I do not leave it connected for lengthy periods. Bottom line? - provided you abide with normal everyday electrical safety precautions, the appliance itself is safe. Would this be sufficient to raise the temperature to a comfortable level?** A: Presuming your shed was fairly draught proof, it would probably keep frost at bay, assuming you would leave it on for some time. It is only equivalent to two 60w light bulbs but as continuous background heat, it would be like having underfloor heating. Not sure it would be comfortable to spend much time there on a realy cold day though.
