My husband uses a guillotine made by a German company and it cuts, it can blunt the blade so we keep it just for that purpose **Q: Could i use this to make a shelf?** A: No, although it's called "chipboard" it's actually a thick, highly compressed cardboard sheet. (If you laminated several sheets together with a strong glue, you could make a shelf for light use, but the time and expense of that would defeat the object.) **Q: Does this material bend? i am thinking of making alexander calder sculpture and not sure if it will bend without breaking and keep its shape? thanks** A: It will bend but you will need to take care when doing that. It is 1.5mm thick (1/16inch) so if I want to bend it I will first score it quite heavily with a blunt knife on the inside of the bend then flexi it carefully over a straight edge to avoid kinks forming. If you want quite a sharp bend it would probably be worth putting two score lines close together. It took a bit of practice on a scrap piece to get the feel of bending the card to determine at what point the surface might fracture but it can be done. **Q: hi i want to make a dvd box set would this be suitable please?** A: I think it would depend how many were in the set. I am not sure I get what you intend to make but if its to make a box for a DVD then the amount you get will be more than enough to make a few. If its a hard cover to store a few DVD's (in their original boxes) there will be enough in the pack.
