Its MDF but the cutting and engraving is flawless and once assembled and glued, it looks fantastic. I have used Umbro clear model varnish, several coats, to weather proof it and it looks terrific. I have also installed a solar light behind the door and window borrowed from a 'light bulb' solar light and sealed them all into the tree using liquid rubber to keep the electrics water tight. I now see this supplier has several other styles of fairy doors and have ordered these as well to create a little fairy village. I've tried other suppliers but these are the best quality and greatest value i have found. Finally, a no nonsense, prompt and good quality product, Bravo.
