**Q: It's still unclear to me if this is the first or second edition of the game? Also, is the english rulebook included?**
A: The version I received only has a German rulebook. I downloaded an English pdf version of the rules. Can print this off or view on a tablet.

A: My copy was the German version, which I hadn't realised when i ordered.

HOWEVER. The game components have no language-dependent text (to be precise, as it's set in the 19th century US, such text as there is, is in English), and the English rules are available as a PDF on Boardgamegeek (see https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/137068/great-western-trail-english-rule-book), so I don't really have a problem with that.

**Q: There are two versions of this on amazon. There is a response in the other copy saying that this one is the German only version. Can anyone clarify?**
A: They are the same game in English. The publisher of the game has changed, hence the 2 adverts. It was originally produced by 'Pegasus Press'. It's now produced by 'Plan B Games'.

**Q: The picture views a German flag, is the game in German?**
A: The rules booklet is in German, but the components are entirely free of text, so are exactly the same across all language editions.  It is very easy to obtain an English version of the rules, boardgamegeek.com is a good place to look; download and print off your own set.  So buy a German set in complete confidence.  Why no English edition? Because they all sold out.
