Consistency between them speaks volumes for the workmanship and hand ground nibs. My preference for the burgundy over black is simply the colour. They are by far my favourite pens - forget the Mont Blancs, Watermans, Parkers, Montegrappas and all the other well known names - tried them, bought them but now selling them again, they just can't compete with this Italix.Plenty of heft, writes like a dream and gorgeous to just look at or hold. What a terrible shame that we'll almost certainly lose the brand when Mr Pen retires late this year or early next.There is really nothing to dislike about them... I have left one vertically for 3 months, picked it up and it writes first time, incredible.If I was going to complain about anything it would be the feed. This feed can keep up with very fast writing with a very wide nib that lays down huge amounts of ink - but illegible due to the combination of line width and my handwriting. Why complain?
