When I rinse the bottle with boiling water, I can hold it and don’t feel heat from the bottle, so the insulation works well for both hot and cold. The compromise however is that because it’s got the extra lining, the capacity is a bit less than bottles of comparable external size. I’ve dropped it a few times, and it’s still fine.
