I can't be happier with the results! I paired it with the JJC Converter (also bought here on Amazon) and didn't need to use any extension tubes. While it is manual focus, it makes copying them so much faster and cleaner than using a dedicated scanner. I have a few thousand to copy. If my opinion changes, I will update here. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic beginner macro lens *by W***L on August 24, 2024* The Ttartisans 40mm is a great Macro lens for anyone wishing to dip their toes into the Hobby.Build:The Lens features an all metal construction and actually has some heft to it. The focus ring has a stiff but very smooth turn with a long focus throw. The Aperture ring feels extremely nice and has clicks every half stop going from F2.8 to F16. When focusing down to closer objects the front does protrude quite far as this lens does have external focusing.Image Quality:Image quality is solid for the price, with excellent sharpness even at f2.8. The one caveat I found is that the lens can exhibit internal reflections when strong light enters from certain oncoming angles, this usually shows up as a washed out orange ring on the outer-portion of the image. The bokeh of this lens is also very smooth and specular highlights always appear nice and round due to the diaphragm design.macro capability:The lens is capable of 1:1 reproduction meaning when the lens is at its minimum focusing distance, subjects are represented at their true size onto the image sensor.Overall:This is a solid macro lens capable of good image quality with true macro capability. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ works on a6400 *by D***E on March 7, 2024* Decent manual lens for hobby macro at excellant low price.
