- There are two methods for measuring for a twirling baton, please ask your dance teacher her preferred method. Method 1: To measure the correct size baton stand straight and put one arm straight out parallel to the floor. Measure from the base of the neck, just above the shoulder to the tip of the middle finger. Method 2: Again stand straight and put one arm straight out parallel to the floor, measure from the armpit to the tip of the middle finger.
