I decided to give trekking poles a try. The reviews on Amazon were persuasive and in very short time my poles arrived.They were easy to assemble and adjust and all the extra bits to go with them were present.They are a positive aid to me, particularly walking over rough ground and cope well with my sixteen stone on the move. I experience increased stability and am impressed with their sturdiness. Just a word of caution. I found very quickly that I could move more easily, but also at a quicker pace. My first outing found me happily exceeding my normal walk length and delighted at the decreased discomfort. I paid the price the next day however, but I'm wise enough to note that it is muscular stiffness, not the aching in my joints that evidences my endeavours.I am delightedly looking forward to continuing an improved daily walking existence with my Aztrek poles and am looking forward to a week's walking holiday in Northumberland at the beginning of September. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ made a big difference *by R***S on 8 November 2018* I've never used poles before whilst walking but after suffering a certain amount of knee pain when decending hills, fells etc a friend recommended them. Just got back from the lakes and after using them on particularly steep decents I have found them to be a great help, they kind of enable your arms to act like a shock absorber and take some of the impact out of your legs, they also make you feel more sure footed. What the difference between these poles and very expensive ones is I can't say but I find these very well made and the locking mechanism is very secure, the grips are comfortable and the poles are light weight. On longevity time will tell, but at present I am very happy with both the quality and the price and would recommend these ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cool Handles! *by G***4 on 21 August 2017* After having struggled with my left knee on a recent walking holiday in North Devon (It wasn't intended, my idea was to spend most of my time on the beach but the other half had other ideas!) I decided that I needed a bit of assistance for future treks. I had seen many walkers using trekking poles and a close friend of mine uses them regularly so, after plenty of advice, I had a look around for something suitable. The number of options available is huge but I knew that i wanted something sturdy and something that didn't look like a walking stick. After much searching, I came across the Aztrek poles. For a start, they look good and the reviews were good also so I decided to buy them. Un-boxed, they don't disappoint. The best thing about them is the cork pistol-grip handles, they look very cool indeed, and adjusting them for height is very easy. This would probably have been a five star rating were it not for the fact that I have only tested them by stomping around indoors, which isn't really a fair test of the efficacy.
